Staying on top of mental health, eating a healthy diet, getting your exercise, practicing good hygiene, and generally being an adult is hard work. It's even harder when you're in the APDL community, where your headspace might clash with your adult needs.
Enter Regressive Aesthetics, or REGRAES (pronounced "Regress"). A zine for APDLs that aims to cover how to do all that grownup stuff but without breaking headspace too badly in the process. Questions like:
All those questions (and many more) will be answered in the pages and issues to come, all of which will be contributed by members of the APDL community!
That's right! This zine accepts contributions from you, the readers, for everything published. Proper credit will always be given if your submission is accepted, you'll always retain copyright over your creations (we just license it for the zine), and artwork is welcome!
I want this zine to be by APDLs, for APDLs. Not another social media site, but a little slice of cultivated community we can share with one another.
All submissions should be emailed to submissions at regraes dot com, and include your preferred name (pseudonyms are accepted!) as well as any links to your websites you'd like us to include.
Current submission topics for the debut issue include:
Additionally, the zine always welcomes art submissions including visual art (see submission restrictions below), poetry, short stories ("snippets"), even fake advertisements. Let your creative juices flow!
This is really important, so make sure your big or caretaker reads this before you send anything.
Absolutely no adult content is to be submitted. Period. While this zine is definitely targeting an adult audience, no adult content will be accepted for submission. This includes any artwork depicting any sort of bodily excretions or genitalia.
Additionally, all submissions should be submitted in markdown (.md), plaintext (.txt), or static html (.html) only. If you want to include images, please use placeholders in your text where they should go and include links to them elsewhere (your socials, personal gallery, file share, whatever). Do NOT include images in emails, as the message will be deleted.
Finally, submissions leveraging generative AI in any way, shape, or form, will be deleted.
This page is just a placeholder while the site and the first issue get compiled over the next month or so. The goal is to have a few pages of content by the end of August ready to share, along with a more colorful site design and zine layout.
In the meantime: stay safe out there, have fun, and always keep a fresh change on hand!
